At Moseys Production Machinists, our standard manufacturing payment terms are Net 30, which is a common arrangement across the industry. But we know that every customer’s situation and priorities are different, and that’s why we’re always focused on finding solutions that can work for both sides.
The Flexibility Within Standard Terms
While we don’t typically extend terms beyond Net 30, we do work with customers in other ways to create flexibility. Depending on your needs, here are some of the arrangements you could benefit from:
Payment Cards (P-Cards)
Some of our customers use P-Cards through banks or other financial institutions. In these cases, the bank pays us to meet our Net 30 requirement while extending the payment timeline for our customer.
For example, one of our fastest-paying customers uses a Citibank P-Card. They are able to pay us quickly while still gaining additional time on their end thanks to what is essentially a line of credit.
Extending Supplier Terms to Our Shop
If you already have your own contracts with suppliers like material vendors, you might have favorable payment terms yourself. If you are able to extend those terms to our shop and allow us to leverage the same agreement, we can often offer you more flexible terms on your projects.
Hybrid or Custom Arrangements
In some cases, we can help you structure custom arrangements. For instance, a customer might pay upfront for materials while extending terms for labor. We’re always open to creative solutions and negotiations.
Discounts for Faster Payments
For customers whose priority is price savings, shorter terms like Net 10 or less can unlock discounts up to 3%. Faster payment helps our cash flow and reduces our risk, and we pass part of that on to you in the form of stronger pricing.
