3 Reasons to Build Your Manufacturing Career at Moseys

Moseys is always looking for talented precision CNC machining professionals to join our team. But with plenty of job opportunities available to you, why work at Moseys?

We knew no one could answer this question better than the incredible employees who already work in our Anaheim machine shop—many for as long as 15-20 years or more!

Here’s what they had to say about what makes Moseys a wonderful place to work.

1. Moseys Embodies a Culture of Collaboration

Since 1975, our veteran-owned, family-run company has built a rock-solid reputation for superb craftsmanship, innovative solutions, and quality products.

“Everywhere you look: Accountability. Responsibility,” says our Shipping and Receiving Specialist, Eric Reyes. “Everyone pulls their weight and helps others.”

In fact, all of Moseys’ successes are made possible by the hard work and dedication of its incredible people. Our 32,000-square-foot Anaheim machine shop is currently “home” to more than 30 close-knit employees, each with their own skills, strengths, and unique personalities that make Moseys a terrific place to build a lifelong career.

“This culture is amazing,” says Purchasing Manager Israel Cureno. ”We all have the same vision. We all really have each other’s backs. And we continue to focus on expanding and growing—not just as a company, but as individuals.”

Motivated by meaningful work

COO John Zmuda describes Moseys as a place with “plenty of challenges and rewards; plenty of people to work with who really like to be in a collaborative culture and help others.”

We don’t just show up at work and have fun. We make parts that touch every aspect of the American way of life and empower an exciting array of industries, including:

  • Aerospace
  • Automotive
  • Electronics
  • Firearms
  • Food processing
  • Hydraulics
  • Industrial
  • Medical
  • Oil and gas
  • Pneumatics
  • Semiconductors

Our Anaheim machine shop makes parts that matter—parts that keep entire industries advancing and succeeding. And that sense of purpose is deeply motivating to our team.

“We’re not just going through the motions trying to complete orders,” affirms CFO Nick Mosey. “We’re looking at: How can we do this better? How can we provide a better part?”

2. Moseys Maintains an Environment of Learning

Skilled manufacturing professionals are rare these days, particularly in the younger generations. So instead of anxiously waiting for qualified candidates to knock on our door, Moseys emphasizes on-the-job training and ongoing learning for every team member, from the front desk to the shop floor.

We aren’t looking for people who already know everything. All you really need to join our team is the motivation to learn and the enthusiasm to be here. We can teach you the rest.

Before Luis Ramirez became a Setup Machinist in Moseys’ Robotics department, he worked at a small shop where he doubted his ability to learn new machines and technologies. Then he joined our team. “Today, I’m confident that I can make it in this industry!” Luis raves.

We seek to instill the kind of confidence Luis embodies throughout our entire team. At Moseys, we all learn and work together, which means our newer employees work alongside seasoned operators who can provide guidance and answer questions.

Continuing education, company-wide

We also invest heavily in continuing education, bringing coaches and consultants in throughout the year to introduce new skills and provide training that we can immediately put in place to serve our customers and make our workplace more efficient and successful.

“Management is very easy to talk to, and training is available to everyone,” says Customer Service Specialist Johanna Hooper. “It’s an open dialogue, and I love it here!”

Our ongoing education does require a hefty investment, but the cost of training is a drop in the bucket if you look at the industry as a whole. Our country is already facing enormous training needs if we hope to succeed at bringing manufacturing jobs back home to American workers.

To see the impact of our on-the-job education and career-building, look no further than John Zmuda, who joined Moseys Anaheim machine shop 24 years ago as an operator. Today, he’s the COO.

“Moseys Production offers a plethora of opportunities for the right individual,” says John. “It’s a great place to be if you’re the kind of individual who likes a challenge—but you’re never left alone with the challenge,” he continues. “There’s room to grow here. It’s really all about attitude and your desire to learn and grow as part of the team.”

3. Moseys Is a Workplace with Authentic Values

At Moseys, we don’t just build parts; we build relationships.

“Even though we have [around] 30 employees right now, they’re all still family,” says President Bob Mosey. “The whole purpose of this business is to provide a good living for [our employees], give them opportunities to grow and learn, and help them succeed in life any way we can.”

Bob’s statement is a far cry from the profits-over-people approach modeled by so many of today’s businesses—and it’s a difference everyone on the Moseys team notices.

“I’ve had jobs where you weren’t really treated like a human. You weren’t treated like you really mattered,” shares Inspector Amanda Reis. “But at Moseys, you know that your bosses, your peers, everyone actually cares about you. They care about your well-being.”

Living out our core values, day after day

Moseys’ core values define our Anaheim machine shop’s way of life: how we treat one another, our customers, and even our communities outside the shop.

  1. Honesty. This first core value, honesty, is especially important. We’re honest even when it’s uncomfortable. Why? Because you can’t fix an issue if it isn’t brought to the surface. At Moseys, we embrace this mantra: “Always be truthful. Even if it isn’t the answer they want to hear.”
  2. Integrity. For the Moseys team, integrity means ”consistency in what we say and do.” Consistent quality, consistent character, and consistent communication all allow us to deliver exceptional precision CNC machining services that we can be proud of.
  3. Customer-focused. In every customer interaction, we encourage ourselves to “listen, think, solve, and perform.” When a customer shares, we listen, and we put deep thought into finding the right solution for that company’s needs. Only then do we take action, performing the next steps with best practices at the forefront.
  4. Relationships and caring. Moseys’ emphasis on relationships extends beyond our shop walls. “As we would for ourselves, so to our customers, employers, and suppliers” is this value’s directive.
  5. Stewardship. For the Moseys team, stewardship means “sharing our God-given talents in all that we do, including in support of the manufacturing industry.” When we use our gifts for good, we improve not only ourselves but also the world around us. And that’s a cause we can all get behind.

When You Work at Moseys, You’re Connected to Quality

For nearly everyone on this planet, work isn’t optional. We work to secure the basics, like food and shelter; and we work to open doorways to new opportunities and adventures. But far too many people find themselves stuck in jobs that drain them of motivation and purpose.

At Moseys, we want better—for ourselves, our families, our friends, and the future.

“Waking up every morning and wanting to go to work? It makes a difference!” says Israel Cureno, Purchasing Manager. “Moseys stands out from any place I’ve ever been at.”

With a workplace rooted in shared goals and values, Moseys is the go-to manufacturer for collaborative, innovative production machining services.

The team at Moseys finds meaning in doing great work with great people for great purposes. The byproduct of that mission? Our customers get great parts.
