What
Is Rapid Prototyping Machining?
Rapid prototyping is a process in which a prototype (defined by Webster's
Dictionary as: "An original model or pattern from which subsequent
copies are made, or improved specimens developed") part is
created as quickly and as cost effectively as possible. Companies need
prototypes for a variety of reasons…from needing a visual aid for
engineering meetings to fit and function testing; from interference checking
to process planning; from manufacturing method planning to plainly, something "to
play with" when they are having trouble visualizing a component
from drawings.
At MPM,
we have dedicated special equipment
and staff to solely work on prototype
projects. This allows our production
schedule to proceed without interference,
at the same time, assist our customers
in achieving the quick turn around
time desired for prototype projects.
In conjunction
to our prototype capability, we
have on staff a manufacturing and
design engineer who can assist
in the process. By continuously
improving on the manufacturing
processes, we can make your part
more efficiently, thus, saving
you money.
