Engineering
Engineering is defined as “the application of mathematical and scientific
principles to practical ends, as in the design, construction, and operation
of economical and efficient structures, equipment, and systems.”
It is also art, communication, modeling, simulation, testing, estimating, and
measuring, solving real world problems using knowledge and practical applications.
In past years, concurrent engineering has become the standard in the industry.
With concurrent engineering, all parties involved work together as a team,
resolving to tackle the project as a unit. It creates a sense of community
and ownership among the members. For example, as engineers and designers develop
new features; the cost analysis team work closely to communicate the impacts
of the design on the cost; in addition, the manufacturing team will communicate
the manufacturability of the design. Thus, ensuring that design, cost, and
manufacturability issues are all concurrently considered, resulting in an optimal
design at the least possible cost, with the quickest time to manufacture.
MPM’s approach to engineering is focused on this process. We are
your cost analysis and manufacturing team. Our engineering, working cohesively
with your engineering team, forms the engineers and designers for the project.
All
three groups together form the concurrent engineering unit. We are dedicated
to working together to solve issues such as, machine-ability, process flow,
material selection, and finishing, to ensure each product meets your requirements
and quality standards. We have the capability to use E-drawing technology
through our Solid Works Cad System. Using the viewer, our customer can
instantly
review
and make comments directly on a drawing, then send back to MPM.
